By Esau J. Farr

The Chairman of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), as head of an array of some top members of the CDC is expected to pay a one day working visit to Grand Cape Mount County today (Friday Jan. 11, 2019).

According to an ELBC Correspondent in the county, executives and partisans of the ruling party are expected to visit the county in order to appreciate citizens of Grand Cape Mount for overwhelmingly voting for the CDC in the 2017 Presidential Run-Off Election that brought the CDC to power as a government.

The State-Radio Correspondent told the Super Morning Show (SMS) that the high power CDC delegation is expected to be led by Mr. Morlu to on behalf of the party extend gratitude to the people for the support shown for the candidacy of Dr. Weah at the highest seat of the land in 2017.

According Marc Rogers, it is seen that the CDC is using Cape Mount as a starting point in western Liberia as part of the nationwide appreciation tour of the CDC to pay humid to citizens of Liberia in their respective counties for their overwhelming support given the party and love for the Liberian leader, George M. Weah which made him Liberia’s 24th President.

The occasion is expected to be graced and witnessed by citizens of cape Mount both in Monrovia and those in the county.

Similar tour was staged by former Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, in 2016 and 2017 when she went from one county to another to thank and appreciate citizens of Liberia across the 15 counties of the country for electing her as Liberia and Africa’s first democratically elected Female President.

She told citizens of the various counties at the time that she was especially humble to have witnessed her election and subsequent inauguration for the first, second and final times as a female President of the West African nation.

The visit of the CDC executives to Cape Mount is coming less than 12 days to the celebration of one year in charge of the affairs of the country as a seated government under the Presidency of former soccer legend, George M. Weah.

The CDC government took over the mantle of authority to steer the affairs of the country on January 22, 2018 bringing to light the first ever democratic transition in more than 70 years. TNR
