ANC Gets More Members

-As Former Kakata City Mayor, Rep candidate, Others Joined

The opposition political party, the Alternative National Congress (ANC) Thursday February 7, 2019 inducted more members into its already mammoth membership in the country.

Those new members include former Kakata City Mayor and stalwart of the Unity Party (UP), Eddie Murphy, former Margibi County electoral district one Representative candidate Augustine Tamba, Meima Benson among others.

Speaking following his induction, Eddie Murphy said his coming to the ANC is not a surprise because even a baby born today knows the current situation in the country. Murphy who said he spent fifteen years with the Unity Party said the country is going back rapidly.

“People still living in abject poverty. Liberians are still eating palm cabbage. The Unity Party that is the main opposition political party is not speaking, but only the ANC speaking in the country.  We need to collectively join the caravan of development in the country,” he said.

According to Murphy, he served the UP and produced results. For her part, Meima Benson called for collective efforts from all partisans and work toward the development of the country, but said it takes commitment to achieve such.

Augustine Tamba who bragged of having the numbers from Margibi County said he has come to add and not to subtract from the party, saying “we will deliver Margibi to the ANC. We will individually contribute because we are not here to joke.”

Also speaking, the chairman of the ANC Lafayette Gould said it is time to hurry up and save the state from collapse under the regime of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in 2023.

“It’s urgency for all of us or else the country will finish. We are in difficult times. We are in deep mess, trouble,” he said.
