Liberian News: Ganta–Yekepa Road To Get Complete Pavement

Monrovia-ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman, Mr. Lakshmi N. Mittal, has pledged that his company will complete the long-awaited asphalt pavement of the Ganta–Yekepa highway, describing it as a priority for community development in northern Liberia.
Mr. Mittal made the commitment during the dedication ceremony of ArcelorMittal Liberia’s newly completed iron ore concentrator in Tokadeh, Nimba County. The high-level event was graced by His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and marked a significant milestone in Liberia’s mining sector, showcasing ArcelorMittal’s $1.8 billion Phase II expansion.

Liberian News: ARCELORMITTAL SPRINGS FURTHER

In a highly and historically significant move to enhance Liberia’s mining sector and fortify economic growth, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on Thursday commissioned ArcelorMittal Liberia’s new up-to-the-minute Concentrator Plant.
The US$1.4 billion Concentrator Plant situated at the Mt. Tokadeh Mining Site in Yekepa, Nimba County is seen as a huge spring in the Company’s investment portfolio in Liberia.
It is the central component of ArcelorMittal’s US$1.8 billion expansion project in Liberia – bringing ArcelorMittal’s total investment in Liberia to date to approximately US$3 billion – which will see production increase from current levels of 5 million tonnes of iron ore a year, to 20 million tonnes, the company said.
