Fish Town-November 23, 2025: Paramount Chief Pah Saye of River Gee County has issued a strong traditional warning against journalists, government officials, and ordinary citizens who publicly insult President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. The statement was made during a community gathering held recently at the Paramount Chief’s Compound in Fish Town.

Chief Pah Saye said the continuous wave of verbal attacks and unguarded criticisms directed at the President on public radio and social media is unacceptable. According to him, President Boakai has become like the father of the nation and deserves respect from all Liberians, regardless of political differences.

He noted that in traditional Liberian culture, disrespect especially toward elders and leaders is never encouraged. “If two women are insulting each other in the town, we do not allow it. We stop it,” the Paramount Chief said, drawing a parallel to the current national discourse.

Addressing officials present, he further warned that the traditional leadership will not hesitate to take action against anyone whether from the Senate, the Executive, government ministries, or the general public who engages in public insults against the President.

He emphasized that individuals who violate this cultural norm will be summoned by the traditional council. “If we hear that any citizen, senator, minister, or government official insults the President, we will invite you, no matter where you are from. We will deal with you,” Chief Saye declared, adding, “in the name of Jesus.”

The Paramount Chief’s comments come amid rising political tensions and heated public discussions surrounding national issues.
