“Sons Of The Devil”

MONROVIA–Senator Prince Yormie Johnson alias ‘PYJ’ of Nimba County has described those he believes to be his critics as ‘sons of the devil’

Senator Johnson and two members of the Nimba County legislative Caucus, [Representatives Larry P. Younquoi, and Samuel Kogar] had been at one another’s throats in recent times.

The two lawmakers have repeatedly accused the Senator of using his popularity to divide the county and causing serious political bickering.

Appearing on OkayFM on Tuesday February 23, 2021 in Monrovia, Nimba County electoral district eight Representative Larry P. Younquoi accused Senator Johnson of being ‘divisive’ and very ‘tribalistic.’

According to Representative Younquoi, due to the ‘divisive nature’ of Senator Johnson, he [Sen. Johnson], is running the county at his will with total disregard to the other leaders of the county.

“Senator Johnson’s statement is very divisive.  Why he continues to talk about Gio and Mano, Gio people did this, Mano people this. He is very tribalistic. The way forward is for Senator Johnson to remove his kneels from the necks of the people of Nimba,” he said.

The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) stalwart also said; “he is carrying us in the wrong way. Senator Johnson has hijacked everything in the county including who becomes Senator, when our concession agreement is reviewed. He has told President Weah that unless he is involved in everything, nothing must happen.”

Responding via mobile phone on the station, Senator Johnson said he doesn’t know what Representative Younquoi calls dividing the county. According to him, the only division he knows in the county is political parties and not tribal as alleged by Representative Younquoi.

The Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) political leader said besides Representatives Larry Younquoi and Samuel Kogar, the other members of the caucus are united and working together collaboratively and cooperatively.

“The only division I know of is politics. Larry is a member of the Liberty Party, and CPP. I belong to the MDR. I support this regime. He didn’t support President Weah and they have vehemently opposed the regime. There are nine representatives. But only Larry, Kogar,” he said.

Representative Younquoi accused Senator Johnson of singlehandedly forwarding names to President Weah for appointment in his government without consultation from members of the caucus, but Senator Johnson said he cannot consult oppositions.

“You don’t support this government. He is a strong opponent to President Weah.  Rep. Younquoi doesn’t want to see the grounds a Gio man walks on. He hates the Gio people. I love Larry Younquoi, but he just hates me and he has his own reasons of hating me. He’s always on the radio calling me names that I am a murderer and that,” he added.

Senator Johnson added: “This murderer is the one the people of Nimba will always elect. I have done my best for Larry and me to be okay, but he always attacking me. I love them.”

The former warlord of the defunct Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL) now turned evangelist of the gospel of Jesus Christ evoked   John 10:10, which states “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have more abundantly.”

“John 10:10 will always be realized in life.  Leave these two people alone. Nimba has 2.2million people. People will always fight you. I don’t care. I am focus on the development of Nimba and my people. I am moving ahead. I don’t get distracted by sons of the devil,” he further said.
