PLEEBO–The City of Pleebo referred to as the Commercial Capital of Maryland County is being rocked by rape allegations, as a 20-Yr-Old Nyema P. Toomey is alleged to have sexually fouled or raped a 15-year-old girl.

The alleged incident reportedly occurred on January 20, 2026 in the bushes at the Old Chinese Camp in Pleebo City, sparking outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of young girls in the area.

‎‎According to the victim’s account, she informed her elder sister earlier that evening that she was hungry.

‎‎In response, her sister reportedly gave her LRD 200 to buy food around 7:00 p.m. The victim said she left home in the company of her friend, Lovetee Dweh, to look for something to eat.

‎‎While returning home, the two girls encountered a motorcyclist later identified as Nyema P. Toomey, who was reportedly in the company of his friend, Solomon Nuysawn.

‎‎The men allegedly offered to give the girls a ride home, an offer the girls accepted.

‎‎As they approached the community, Lovetee Dweh requested to be dropped off before reaching the victim’s house.

‎‎She reportedly feared being beaten by her elder brother, who had earlier warned her against associating with motorcyclists and older men, cautioning that such behavior could ruin her future.

‎‎The motorcyclists complied and dropped Lovetee off.

‎The victim stated that she then instructed the motorcyclist to take her directly to her house. However, instead of stopping, the rider allegedly passed her home.

‎‎Alarmed, she said she raised her voice and attempted to slow the motorcycle by dragging her feet on the ground, but her efforts proved unsuccessful as she was taken to an unfamiliar location.

‎‎The motorcycle reportedly stopped at the Old Chinese Camp, a former base used by a Chinese road construction company during the Alpha paving project in Maryland County.

‎‎At that point, Solomon Nuysawn allegedly rode away with the motorcycle, leaving the victim alone with Nyema P. Toomey in the bushes.

‎‎The victim recalled that the suspect then asked her, “Do you know why I brought you into these bushes?” When she replied in the negative, he allegedly told her, “You lied; you know what we came here to do.”

‎‎She further alleged that the suspect forcefully dragged her into the bushes, removed her clothing, threatened to kill her if she reported the incident, and then raped her.

‎‎After the alleged assault, she said the suspect abandoned her at the scene and later contacted Solomon Nuysawn, who returned to pick him up before they both fled the area.

‎‎A medical examination report, obtained following the incident, reportedly supports the claim of sexual assault. The victim has since been receiving medical and psychosocial care.

‎‎The case has been reported to the Liberia National Police, Pleebo detachment.

‎‎According to LNP officers, the report was immediately received by the Pleebo City Police Division, and investigators have begun a full-scale inquiry.

‎‎The LNP has appealed to the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and assist the investigation by providing any relevant information that could lead to the apprehension of the accused.

‎‎Authorities emphasized that the police are committed to ensuring justice and protection for minors in Maryland County.
