Team Mengonfia Well Energized

….-For RAL Presidency; Promises Team Work, Advocacy, When Elected

MONROVIA-Journalists in Margibi County have been promised the spirit of teamwork and advocacy when elected to serve the Reporters Association of Liberia (RAL).

Journalists Mark N. Mengonfia over the weekend led a team of his reporters to Margibi to give reasons why he and members of his team should be elected to serve RAL leadership.

Speaking during two separate radio appearances on Hope FM and Classic FM, and two different meetings in lower and upper Margibi County, Mengonfia placed before journalists of Margibi what he and his team will achieve when elected.

Presenting the team’s manifesto, Mengonfia said, “We will strengthen RAL’s legal status & highlight tenure reduction, we will prioritize decentralization & fully seek reporters’ welfare.”

Speaking additionally, Mengonfia informed his colleagues that they will enhance the membership database for substantive and reliable advocacy and to promote accountability and Co-existence in leadership amidst diversities.”

Mengonfia told his colleagues that he loves the results of what he does as a person.

“Look, if we are to take this table outside and each one of us gives a hand to take it outside, we will definitely achieve more,” Mengonfia said.

Mengonfia told journalists in Margibi to support their own Augustine T. Saah who has expressed interest in the position of SG.

“Augustine contested against me during the last RAL’s election and after the process, he and I became very close as if we did not contest against each other. Since that time, he has been around and is well placed to be the SG of the RAL”, he intoned.

Mengonfia told his friends, “I want you to vote for my team and I but even if you will not vote for me for any reason, please vote for Augustine Saah who is the best person for now to occupy the SG position.”

The Reporters Association of Liberia goes to elections on the 29th of October while the Press Union of Liberia ( PUL) is expected to have its elective congress the second week in November.

Speaking about the two elections, Mengonfia said, “For the RAL Election, my team comes from five counties including Nimba, Grand Bassa, Margibi, Lofa, and Grand Cape Mount Counties.”

He named team members as Onesimus Garway, V; Augustine Saah, Secretary General; Korto Snowe, Assistant Secretary General and himself as President, wishing to be elected as leaders of RAL.

As for the Press Union of Liberia, Mengonfia pledged his support to the bids of PUL Vice President Daniel Nyakonah, Akoi Baysah, and Julius Konton as President, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary of the Press Union of Liberia respectively.
