ICEJ – Liberia Extolls NLA

MONROVIA-The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem–Liberia (ICEJ–Liberia) is extolling the National Lottery Authority for peacefully conducting the raffle draw that took the three winners to the State of Israel in October 2022.

The three winners that went for the Feast of Tabernacles by the ICEJ-Liberia are Mrs. Comfort Yassah Mehaud (Paynesville), Mother Olive Malomeni Powell (Gardnerville), and Reverend Mother Willimena Winnie Bans (Congo Town).

During the raffle draw process, ICEJ-Liberia was faced with some challenges; that included the war in Israel between the Jews and Palestinians; and the high death rate caused by COVID-19 Delta variant. These reasons led to the discouragement of many people not playing in the raffle draw. As a result of this, the Institution went through lot of expenses to make sure in fulfilling its commitment to the public.

ICEJ–Liberia in a press release issued Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Monrovia, disclosed that the entire raffle draw was done in accordance with international best practices with the involvement of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

It also mentioned, it was NLA that provided ICEJ – Liberia with all technical details along the way of the raffle draw and indeed the process started on a smooth note but was later challenged during the outbreak of the Corona Virus in Liberia.

“Though many of the tickets for the raffle draw that were printed was not purchased because of the COVID–19, it was more challenging when travel restrictions by several countries around the world were put in place including the State of Israel where the event was to be held,” ICEJ – Liberia pointed out.

However, ICEJ – Liberia said, despite these challenges, the raffle draw was held in collaboration with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) conducted the raffle draw at the Secretariat of ICEJ-Liberia where people of all backgrounds including Muslims and Christians were represented.

Meanwhile, The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem– Liberia (ICEJ–Liberia), has disclosed that the registration process for the 2023 Feast Tabernacles has begun in the country and will end Monday, July 31, 2023.

According to ICEJ – Liberia Feast Coordinator, Rev. Mother Catharine M. B. Toomey’s departure for the Feast will be on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 and the group will return to the country on October 6 four days before the Presidential and Legislative Elections in Liberia.

The ICEJ–Liberia joins the Liberian Government and the international community to encourage all Liberians from the age of 18 years and above to register as eligible voters.
