IAA ENTERS WEEK THREE OF CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

MONROVIA-The third week of the IAA’s Capacity Building Training Program commenced today, January 30, 2023 at the Corina Hotel in Sinkor, Monrovia.

The four days of training brought together over forty (40) Internal Auditors comprising Group three (3). This week’s Capacity Building training will climax on Thursday, February 2, 2023 with an official closing and certification ceremony.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony, IAA Director General, David A. Kemah, told the participants that the audit profession is dynamic and has witnessed changes as a result of evolving ideas.

Some of those evolving ideas, according to the head of the IAA, are negative ideas being devised by bad actors; as such, auditors must be brave themselves to respond to those new developments.

He said, the movement of money has taken a new trend, and if auditors don’t come together to figure out how to respond to audit needs, they might not be effective to direct internal controls in the public sector.

Mr. Kemah reechoed calls for participants to make maximum use of the training and see it as an opportunity for personal development.

Making remarks on behalf of the participants, Madam Jenneh M. Momo, a junior auditor at the IAA, thanked the Executive Management Team for initiating the training and cautioned her fellow participants to put to practice the knowledge gained from the training.

The training today has brought to week three of a month-long Capacity Building Training Program for Internal Auditors.
