December 2, 2025-Harper, Maryland – The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has made a significant contribution to improving public sanitation in Maryland County with the donation of essential cleanup tools to the Harper City Corporation.
The items comprising one tricycle, ten wheelbarrows, twenty shovels, and thirty cutlasses are expected to greatly enhance the city’s waste management and environmental hygiene efforts. The donated items were turned over at a brief ceremony attended by City officials, representatives of LPRC, and community members.
Receiving the items on behalf of the city, Harper City Mayor Abraham B. Jackson expressed heartfelt appreciation to the LPRC Management, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. Mayor Jackson emphasized that the tools will be used strictly for their intended purpose, noting that Harper City continues to face challenges with waste disposal and urban sanitation.
“This support from LPRC will significantly strengthen our ongoing efforts to keep Harper clean. It will directly benefit our citizens by improving hygiene, public safety, and overall community well-being,” he said.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Kenneth Martu, Assistant Manager for Corporate Affairs, said the donation aligns with LPRC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, which focuses on promoting public health and environmental sustainability across Liberia.
