The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has announced the successful completion of repair works on the damaged 36-inch transmission pipeline, marking a major step toward the full restoration of water supply to affected communities across the capital and its environs.

According to the corporation’s technical team, all structural repair activities have now been fully executed, and the system has transitioned into what engineers describe as the critical healing phase.

This stage allows the newly cast sections of the pipeline to properly dry, cure, and stabilize before water pressure is gradually reintroduced. Officials emphasize that this curing period is essential to guarantee the long-term integrity and safety of the repair.

The demanding operation extended beyond 48 hours of continuous work and required intense coordination and technical precision. LWSC technicians and engineers labored around the clock, navigating pressure constraints and safety challenges to ensure the restoration process met engineering standards while minimizing the risk of future failure.

Management has praised the repair crew for their dedication, professionalism, and relentless commitment to restoring access to safe water for the public. Senior officials described the successful execution as a testament to the corporation’s growing technical capacity and its readiness to respond decisively to infrastructure emergencies.

LWSC assures customers that once the curing process is complete and the casting has fully stabilized, water pressure will be systematically restored and normal water service will resume.

Beyond the immediate repair, the corporation reinforced its broader commitment to improving national service delivery, modernizing aging infrastructure, and strengthening system reliability to avoid future disruptions. LWSC reiterated that expanding access to dependable, safe water remains a top institutional priority as part of Liberia’s public health and urban development goals.

As the system moves through its final healing stage, customers are encouraged to remain patient while technical assessments are finalized. For LWSC, the successful repair underscores a renewed operational mantra: resilience over reaction — keeping the water flowing today while building a more durable network for tomorrow.
