MONROVIA-The Senator of River Gee County, Hon. Jonathan Boye Charles Sogbie has said it is better for his friend lawmakers to find a way forward in resolving the ArcelorMittal Steel agreement so that all parties would be happy.
The Senator made the call this week on local radio, OKFM when he addressed a number of local and international issues.
He said, “we cannot be having fewer things and let them go,” making reference to ArcelorMittal Mineral Development Agreement. That AML is one of the few companies with huge investments. The lower house recently returned the MDA on grounds that AML needed to effect some changes to it as it relates to the use of the rail by a third party.
“We need to work with them and see how we fix this situation. That is one of the reasons we want to convene early and, we hope to find an amicable and reasonable solution that is better for Liberia and satisfactory to Mittal Steel,” he said.
